Favreau reveals that, while the team of The Mandalorian knew they wanted Baby Yoda to be cute, they weren’t entirely sure just how cute. Many of the submissions were deemed either too ugly or too cute, but it seems that the final product has struck a chord with fans.

Perhaps it is because fans are used to the look that Baby Yoda sports in the show, but some of these pieces are just absolutely horrifying to look at. Look at the teeth of the image on the left, they are simply unnerving.
Most fans can agree they are glad that the actual design ended up being much cuter than this but isn’t so over the top as to look unrealistic. It seems as though Favreau and his team knew how important getting Baby Yoda right would be, and they did a good job doing so.
