In a recent post on Reddit, a user known as xnathkunx revealed that they had managed to combo the abilities of Reinhardt and Mei together to record an incredible highlight from a recent game they played in Overwatch. Specifically, this play involved Reinhardt using their Charge and Mei deploying their Blizzard. The results of this cooperative play were impressive, to say the least.

After a brief winter-themed highlight intro, the action occurred on Hanamura, an assault map in Overwatch, and was captured from the POV of xnathkunx. The clip started with Reinhardt waiting behind an Ice Wall that had been deployed by Mei near the second capture point. After a few seconds, the barrier broke, exposing the enemy team clustered together near a ledge. Seeing the opportunity to press the attack, Reinhardt jumped out from around the corner and charged straight into the middle of the enemies.
While this might have seemed like a reckless move, the play worked in large part due to most of the enemy team having been immobilized by Mei due to her Blizzard. While xnathkunx charged off the side of the edge to their death, they managed to knock several of the enemies off with them, helping their team defend the second point. When posting the Overwatch highlight to Reddit, the gamer called the play the “Mei/Rein bowling combo,” which proved very appropriate.
Unsurprisingly, this awesome play of the game featuring Reinhardt and Mei piqued the interest of numerous members of the Overwatch community on Reddit. Since posting the clip, many gamers have commented on the highlight. For instance, one user pointed out that the highlight intro for the Reinhardt player fit the icy theme of the clip perfectly since it showed the Tank throwing a giant snowball. In addition to the large amounts of comments praising the video, the post gathered almost 2.8K upvotes since it was shared 5 days ago.
This clip featuring Reinhardt and Mei working together comes as the last competitive season of Overwatch is ongoing. While this is doubtlessly sad news for some players, it comes as Blizzard prepares to pivot to Overwatch 2, which releases in early access in roughly one month. While gamers wait for the launch of the sequel, time will tell what other impressive plays are made in the final season of the original Overwatch.
Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
